Dr. Walt mauldin

Executive director
After graduating from Lee College, Cleveland, Tennessee, Dr. Mauldin completed a master’s degree at the University of Southern Mississippi and a doctorate at the University of Miami, Florida. Mauldin also completed post-doctorate work at Harvard University and Emory University’s Candler School of Theology, as well as served as a minister of music and youth in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and Florida. Prior to his appointment at the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home, he served as Lee University's Vice President for Administration (2010-2014), Vice President for Student Life (2002-2010), Dean of the School of Music (1997-2002), Director of Graduate Studies (1995-1997), and Alumni Director (1990-1995). For seventeen years, he also conducted the Lee Singers touring twenty-five countries, completing numerous recording projects, and ministering in hundreds of congregations throughout the United States. Mauldin is a noted speaker, administrator, and worship leader. He is married to Tammie, and they share three sons, one daughter, as well as fourteen grandchildren.
